The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Phils will be wearing a retro look for home day games in 2008. The uniform is similar to those the team sported from '46 through '49 but features the current Phillies logo. Of course this proliferation of uniforms is all about providing a better experience for the fans and has nothing to do with lining the owners pockets through additional merchandising opportunities.
And, in a move that will actually impact the team's play, PI columnist Todd Zolecki says a team source has indicated the Phils are not interested in trading for Orioles third baseman, Melvin Mora. Their focus, like almost everyone else's is likely to remain on pitching.
