I realize this isn’t exactly breaking news but that’s what the holidays do to a blogger. Anyway, Mark Prior has reportedly signed a one year deal with the San Diego Padres. The deal is apparently worth $1 million and with incentives could reach more than $3 million. Prior is hoping to re-establish himself to the status he enjoyed in 2003 when he went 18-6. He is apparently expecting to be able to pitch by May and should he return to form, the Padres would have an imposing rotation to rival the Diamondbacks for best in the NL.
