ESPN.com is reporting that newly signed Jose Guillen and Jay Gibbons have both been suspended for 15 games for violating the league's drug policy. According to the story:

" The pair were linked in media reports to the purchase of human growth hormone. So were Gary Matthews Jr., Rick Ankiel, Troy Glaus and Scott Schoeneweis, but Major League Baseball decided there was "insufficient evidence" to determine they committed a doping violation."

The 15 game suspension is the minimum allowed for the first violation of MLB's "4 strikes and you're only suspended for a year" drug policy. No word yet on the rumor Bud Selig actually has to catch you with a needle in your arm for there to be "sufficient evidence" to determine a doping violation has occurred. Following the logic used in these cases, one would expect to see suspensions handed down once the Mitchell report is released but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.
