Posted by pops as Chicago Cubs Rumors
The Cubs were supposed have been sold before the end of 2007 but now it appears unlikely that the sale will occur before the 2008 season gets underway according to Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune. Among those rumored to be interested interested in ponying up a billion dollars for the franchise is Mark Cuban, computer mogul and owner of the Dallas Mavericks.

1Lets all pray for Mark Cuban. Yea he’s an egomaniac….but isn’t George Steinbrenner? Maybe he can become our $$$$ spending maniac. We need a big time change in corporate attitude over the lethargic Tribune.
We know Selig is against Cuban, perhaps he’s still trying to protect the Brewers or money still owed to him by the Brewers. All wrong reason of course…but that’s baseball.

3Of course, but their payroll is still under 110 million, compared to other major market teams???
