Jayson Stark’s most recent column on ESPN.com stated that the Mariners are letting it be known that Erik Bedard is available.
Now of course, this is the same Erik Bedard that cost the Mariners a package of 5 players, including Adam Jones. However, his performance this year 4-4 with a 4.14 ERA hasn’t exactly been the [...]

The Seattle Mariners have recalled hot shot outfielder Adam Jones from his Winter League team in Venezuela. Jones has long been rumored to be the centerpiece of a deal to send left-handed ace Eric Bedard from the Baltimore Orioles to the Mariners.
While Orioles president, Andy McPhail denied reports that an agreement had been reached, Jones [...]

The Seattle Times is reporting that the Mariners have landed Carlos Silva. The bait was reportedly (as was rumored a couple days ago) a four-year $44 million deal. That’s a lot of money for a pitcher who was sub-.500 (13-14) last year with an ERA of 4.19.

Today is apparently free agent pitcher Carlos Silva’s day in the hot stove spotlight. We’ve got reports that both the Royals and the Mariners have made Silva offers. The article also mentions that talks haven’t really died down much since the GM’s left the Winter Meetings at Nashville but that no deal is [...]

The Seattle PI reports that GM Bill Bavasi and manager John McLaren are hoping to bring back more than just electronics when they return from their current Japanese shopping trip. They also hoping to wrap up pitcher Hiroki Kuroda. The club already has a strong Japanese contingent including catcher Kenji Johjima, outfielder Ichiro Suzuki and [...]

Newsday.com is reporting that the New York Yankees already have a short list of candidates they’d like to see succeed Alex Rodriquez at third base. According to Ken Davidoff the list includes
“Mike Lowell and, as trade possibilities, Seattle’s Adrian Beltre and Florida’s Miguel Cabrera. St. Louis’ Scott Rolen is a dark-horse candidate.”
Obviously the Lowell option [...]
