The circus that is Barry Bond's life arrived in federal court today so that the star attraction could plead "not guilty." Outside the courthouse, the mob of reporters ("Barry, how will you plead?) and security men (Back up! Back up!") almost made me feel sorry for Barry. Almost, but not quite. Anyway you can watch Barry do his walk up the courthouse steps (from two different angles) over at CNN.com but frankly, it's not worth it.

No word yet on when the trial might begin but all we need is scenes of Barry dashing from McAfee Coliseum to the Federal Courthouse to make the 2008 season truly memorable.

And, by the way, there's no truth to the rumors that the hearing was delayed while officers tried to figure out how to get Bonds' head through the courthouse door.
